"With freedom comes responsibility. Transit connects people to opportunity, and we must ensure it serves everyone."~ Eleanor Roosevelt “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.” As we celebrate Women’s History Month this March, we reflect on the remarkable achievements and contributions of women throughout history—particularly the women who have shaped the world of transportation. This month, we honor their perseverance, leadership, and dedication. Here at Golden Gate Bridge District, Golden Gate Ferry, and Golden Gate Transit, we recognize the strength of our diverse team and the vital role each of you plays in connecting our communities. Moving forward together, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive, empowering environment for all, ensuring that we continue to build a future where every journey is accessible, equitable, and impactful. Read Women In Transporation: Changing America's History to discover the pioneering women who have made significant contributions, paving the way for future innovations and breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields. The District celebrates its own incredible women shaping the future of transit and excelling in roles traditionally performed by men. From bridges to buses to ferries, our women employees have been instrumental in keeping our communities moving. This month, and every month, let’s recognize and support their contributions as we work toward a more connected and innovative transportation system. Let’s keep moving forward—together! |
